In bicentennial celebration of Edgar Allan Poe's birthday, we present a tour that is more biographical than literary or supernatural of his life as we visit six sites associated with him in Greenwich Village.
We are celebrating the 200th year of his birth even though his birthday was in January but then who wants to walk in the very cold weather?

Family Friendly Tour: From Pole to Pole: The Poles and Their Neighbors in the East Village 10:30 AM
Learn how the Poles established their own little corner of Poland in America.
We start from the first Poles in the colony of New Netherland in the time of Peter Stuyvesant where we begin our tour, in front of the lion of St. Mark's Church in the Bowery with bust of Peter Stuyvesant, and we end the tour at St. Stanislaus Church with its huge bust of Pope John Paul II, the first Polish Pope, who visited this church. We also visit some of their neighbors in time, the Ukrainians, the Germans, the Jews, the Italians, the blacks, the Dutch, the Irish, and the Amerindians.
Meeting Place: In front of the St. Mark's in the Bowery Church at the northwest corner of Second Avenue and Tenth Street.
